Perhaps you have been waiting for that vacation for far too long, but what if you could make every day a vacation with your home décor? If you want to be able to relax in a home that feels just like going on vacation, incorporating a tropical theme décor may provide you with the feeling you need. Whether you have a large budget or a smaller budget, it is quite easy to change your home into a tropical paradise.
The Power of Paint
One of the easiest things you can do to make your home a tropical paradise is to deal with your walls. It is amazing what a coat of paint can do to a room to give it a more tropical feel. You may want to consider painting the room in a tropical hue, or you can paint it in a neutral color and use wall hangings, posters, or other wall decorations to give it that tropical spark. If you are great with a paintbrush and you have the time, you may even want to consider painting a tropical mural on your wall as well.
Tropical Window Treatments
Your window treatments are important to the total tropical décor of your home. Whether you prefer curtains, drapes, or even blinds, you want to be sure that they fit into you tropical theme. If you wan to go with curtains, you can purchase curtains that have tropical designs on them such a palm trees. Shades or blinds you can find made out of simple wood styles that will compliment the entire theme.
Lavish Lighting
Believe it or not, your lighting will play a key part in your tropical theme décor as well. First of all you will want to be sure that there is adequate light, for a tropical theme begs for a great deal of light. There are a variety of great choices that you can make for your lighting. You can choose lamps in the shapes of palm trees, or other lighting fixtures that go with the tropical décor as well. If you want a ceiling fan that has lights on it, you may want to go with one that uses blades made of palm leaves.
Awesome Accessories
The accessories you use in your home will actually be what pulls the tropical theme all together. You can use decorative pillows, throw blankets, ceramic decorations, baskets, and more to help pull the theme together. You may even want to use decorative light switch covers and special coasters to promote the theme even further in your home.
There are many accessories and other household items that you can purchase to help turn your home into the tropical paradise you have been dreaming of. Once you have your home decorated in the tropical theme, you can come home each day and enjoy the vacation that you deserve.
