Something Blue For Your Wedding

The color blue symbolizes many things. It is the wedding staple color for most brides from the garter to the cake. It also symbolizes the sea. To me, a blue theme wedding is perfect for your day on the beach.

For the bride look, wear a simple white gown. Add a little sapphire pendant necklace to your wedding look. Underneath the dress, purchase a blue garter and add little shells to the garter. Then compete the look with the hair bulled back. You can wear a matching sapphire and crystal tiara for a formal look. For an informal look, have the hair stylist to place little sapphire hair pins throughout your hair style. For your bouquet, carry a hand tied bouquet of white roses, blue freesia, little sapphire crystals and silver painted shells. Have the florist to wrap the bouquet in a satin blue ribbon.

The wedding invitation sets the tone for the wedding. Have your beach theme invitations written in blue ink. Place the invitation in a white envelope with a silver lining for a formal beach wedding. For a more informal wedding invitation, place a little white envelope with a blue lining. Add you and your groom's initials in confetti to the invitation.

Set up the guest sign in table up with your beach theme guest book. Cover with a white cloth with a crisp blue topper. Have the florist to make a shell and blue crystal topiary on each side of the guest book.

For your tables, use a white table cloth. For a more formal look, use a silver candle sticks with silver dipped shells and white roses. If you are going for a more informal look, find little pails and fill with white roses, blue freesia, and shells. For a place card and favor, purchase or make little shell cookies. Wrap the cookies in a clear bag with the guest name on the tag and tie the cookies with a blue ribbon. Place the favor on each plate.

For the wedding cake, have the baker to dye the frosting or fondant a deep blue. Add chocolate shells or shells made from sugar around the cake. Place a beach cake topper on top of the cake. Have the florist to use florist foam and use white roses and freesia to spell out your monogram in front of the cake.

This is a great theme for a bride who wants a touch of traditional for a day at the beach.
