You can go the safe route and pick out practical bridal shower gifts that the bride and groom will hopefully use in their newly wedded bliss. However it's been my experience that either you end up picking out something they will receive six of at the party or it will be something that you think is really great, but the receivers may not. Though they may be polite enough to say ‘thanks, we really love it.’ at the party. Rest assured it will be stuck in the back of a closet.
Why not take the risqué path and get something that the bride and groom will be more likely to use and enjoy on their honeymoon? There are a variety of things you can pick out, ranging from ‘mildly romantic’ to ‘causing a blush to creep up on their faces.’ One of the easiest romantic gifts to put together is to create a Honeymoon Gift Basket.
The gift basket can contain a CD or two of romantic music, be sure to keep your friends tastes in mind. Are they Barry White fans or more into nature sounds like falling rain? Books on massages and other couples pertinent material can make a great addition for the literary couple to peruse on the plane trip to their honeymoon destination.
